“You Don’t Know”

You Don’t Know
performed by Jill Scott

Did you ever know what it is to be hurt
Did you ever feel like dirt
Did you ever give up on your pride
Just to have him by your side

Well if you don’t know what I am talking about
You don’t know nothing
You don’t know nothing
You don’t know
You don’t know nothing
About love

When the night time comes do your tears fall like rain
and in the morning do they fall all over again
Tell me did you get down on your knees and pray
That should never never never go away

Well if you don’t know what I am talking about
You don’t know nothing
You don’t know nothing
You don’t know nothing
nothing about love

Don’t try to tell me that I am out of my mind
Cause any where my man goes
I will be right behind
You don’t know nothing
You don’t know nothing
You don’t know nothing
You don’t know nothing
You don’t know nothing
You don’t know nothing
About love…

Could Have Been You

Could Have Been You
performed live by Joss Stone in Paris

Well it’s a shame
We used to be so tight
Tell me what’s your game
Since you left me outside
I’m gonna change my track
Go anywhere but back
Ooh, ooh, when I think about it
I’m better off without it
There’s no gain
Only pain
My heart can’t take the strain
I can’t sit
On the shelf
I’ll give my love to someone else
If you see me walking by
Hand-in-hand with another guy
Know that it’s true
It could have been you
If you’d only treated me right
Out of sight, baby out of mind
That’s what you do
It could have been you
Don’t wanna wait
For what you promised me
Like a train: delayed
Forever so it seems
I’m gonna change my track
Go anywhere but back
Ooh, ooh, when I think about it
I’m better off without it
There’s no gain
Only pain
My heart can’t take the strain
I can’t sit
On the shelf
I’ll give my love to someone else
If you see me walking by
Hand-in-hand with another guy
Know that it’s true
It could have been you
If you’d only treated me right
Out of sight, baby out of mind
That’s what you do
It could have been you
You could have been
My first, my last, forever
You held it in your hands
My heart, my treasure
The proof is in the memories
So sad to know that’s all that’s left for you is
What could have been..
If you see me walking by
Hand-in-hand with another guy
Know that it’s true
It could have been you
If you’d only treated me right
Out of sight, baby out of mind
That’s what you do
It could have been you
Forget you, babe

Foundations

Foundations
by Kate Nash

Thursday night,
everything’s fine,
Except you’ve got that look in your eyes,
when I’m telling a story
And you find it boring you’re thinking of something to say.
You’ll go along with and then drop it
And you humiliate me, in front of our friends.

Then I’ll use that voice what you find annoyin’
And say something like
“intelligent input darlin’ why don’t you just have another beer then?”

Then you call me a bitch and everyone we’re with will be embarrassed,
and I won’t give a shit.

[Chorus:]
My fingertips are holding onto the
cracks in our foundations,
and I know that I should let go,
but I can’t.
And everytime we fight I know it’s not right,
everytime that you’re upset and I smile
I know I should forget, but I can’t.

You said I must eat so many lemons,
’cause I am so bitter.
I said “I’d rather be with your friends mate,
’cause they are much fitter”

Yes it was childish
and you got aggressive
and I must admit that I was a bit scared,
but it gives me thrills to wind you up.

[Chorus]

Your face is pasty,
’cause you’ve gone and got so wasted,
what a surprise,
don’t want to look at your face,
’cause it’s making me sick.

You’ve gone and got sick on my trainers,
I only got these yesterday.
Oh my gosh, I cannot be bothered with this.

Well I’ll leave you there till the mornin’,
and I purposely won’t turn the heating on
and dear God, I hope I’m not stuck with this one.

[Chorus]

And every time we fight I know it’s not right,
every time that you’re upset and I smile.
I know I should forget, but I can’t.

Same Old Situation (Accoustic)

Same Old Situation
performed by Rome from Sublime

If I was to only ask of one more thing I’d want from you
Well it would go like this
Would you open up and accept me for the way I am to you?
Get a clue
And if you tell me “Boy I love you but you gotta change your ways”
Well I would say any day
“By the looks of it we have crashed and burned
There ain’t no sign of repair
Tell me this isn’t fair”
Oh and still I wonder why
We’re always fuss and fight
When each and every night
You know I come home to you
[CHORUS]
It’s just the same old situation
We’re at the same old loss of words
We’re at the same old situation, here it goes
Once again
We’re at the same old situation
We’re at the same old loss of words
We’re at the same old situation, here it goes
Once again
And if it could be, girl I just want to walk with you hand in hand,
Back when I was your man
And you hold me, hold me like the world was promising and end,
Tell me this ain’t pretend
And you lift me up then you shot me down you took me out the sky,
And now I’m wondering why
Yeah I’m struggling now, how you got me singing like a sing a long
Tell me I’m out of sight (and out of mind)
And still I wonder why
Why we fuss and fight
And each and every night
You know I come home to you.
[CHORUS]
And I know, and you know
That we may be broken but this is not the end
And we both know that I’m not sure
Nowhere left to go.
[CHORUS]
I don’t want anymore,
It’s the same old situation now,
I don’t want anymore
No more.

Madness

Madness
by Muse

(That girl shouldn’t be walking alone at night like that…)

I, I can’t get these memories out of my mind
And some kind of madness has started to evolve
I, I tried so hard to let you go
But some kind of madness is swallowing me whole, yeah
I have finally seen the light
And I have finally realized
What you mean
Oh oh oh
And now, I need to know is this real love
Or is it just madness keeping us afloat?
And when I look back at all the crazy fights we had
Like some kind of madness
Was taking control
Yeah
And now I have finally seen the light
And I have finally realized
What you need
Mm
And now I have finally seen the end (Finally seen the end)
And I’m not expecting you to care (Expecting you to care)
But I have finally seen the light (Finally seen the light)
I have finally realized (Realized)
I need to love
I need to love
Come to me,
Trust in your dream
Come on and rescue me
Yes I have known, I can be wrong
Maybe I’m too headstrong
Our love is
Madness

My Hero

My Hero

by the Foo Fighters

Too alarming now to talk about
Take your pictures down and shake it out
Truth or consequence, say it aloud
Use that evidence, race it around

There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He’s ordinary

Don’t the best of them bleed it out
While the rest of them peter out
Truth or consequence, say it aloud
Use that evidence, race it around

There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He’s ordinary

Kudos, my hero
Leaving all the best
You know my hero
The one that’s on

There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He’s ordinary
There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He’s ordinary

You Couldn’t Have Come at a Better Time

You Couldn’t Have Come at a Better Time

performed by Luka Bloom

I debated for quite a while whether to post the older version or the newer one. I chose the newer one because Luka still sounds so awesome!

This was filmed at the 2012 Celtic Connections, a winter music festival in Glasgow, featuring artists from around the globe alongside the best Scottish talent.

Where is this place we’ve come to
We don’t know what to say
We long to see each other
And are frightened of that day
You met me in a barren place
You walked me to the hill
We were so good for each other then
I know we could be still

You couldn’t have come at a better time
You couldn’t have come at a better time
You couldn’t have come at a better time
Not if you tried, oh no
Not if you tried, oh no

We have five hundred questions
Between you and me
But when you look into my eyes my love
Tell me what you see
Is it something you’re not sure of
Is it something true and fine
Or is it just another case
Of the right thing at the wrong time

You couldn’t have come at a better time
You couldn’t have come at a better time
You couldn’t have come at a better time
Since we were first together
By the lakeside sky so blue
We were so good for each other
Me and you and me and you and
Me and you and me and you
You couldn’t have come at a better time
You couldn’t have come at a better time
You couldn’t have come at a better time
Not if you tried, oh no…

Fragile

Fragile

by Tech N9ne feat. Kendrick Lamar, !Mayday¡ & Kendall Morgan

You said you’d never ever break, down
But here I am sweeping, pieces off of the ground
You said you’d never, ever play, to crowds
But I’ve seen you hoping to play songs to them now
I’ve spent all night long scared of tomorrow, I broke my alarm
Everything is almost lost, pick it up slow, before it’s gone

We’re fragile
(Wish I’d have known)
I never thought I’d be so fragile
(You’re not alone)
If it didn’t break before, it’s about to
(We’ve been here before)
I don’t ever want to change
I’m fragile
I don’t ever

Some of the people are Pulitzer, give an opinion
Never do get it
I want you to come on and gobble a jimmy and, die
Need to be given the remedy and why?
Critics are really the enemy and I
Can’t stand the way they slam today’s gifted
Effin’ incredible, get fanned away with grands to pay
This jam Wale scripted
Deaf and impeccable
Write a rhyme and I put everything in a flow
I’m the N9ne I’mma look very mean
When a foe scrabalamady but he has never been at a show
By the times it’ll be better, leave it in the stove
Cause they wrote nothin’ but lies, quotes stuck in my eyes
Amateur writer dissin’
He’s a beginner and hopes for your demise, folks I’mma despise
Never do try to listen
It’s real, I’m mad
Clueless when you scribble on your pad
How you gonna criticize now with a chisel on you now sizzling your ass
You don’t really get why I’m so pissed? Understand this
I’m an artist, and I’m sensitive about my shit, yes I’m

We’re fragile
(Wish I’d have known)
I never thought I’d be so fragile
(You’re not alone)
If it didn’t break before, it’s about to
(We’ve been here before)
I don’t ever want to change
I’m fragile
I don’t ever

Tell me that I’m famous
Tell me that my name is
Big as Venus Jupiter and then Uranus
Tell me that your anus got your head in it
I can smell the articles and know you’re heinous
Tell me that you love me, always thinkin’ of me
Unconditional, I’m hoping I’m your favorite
Grab a fishing pole and throw me with the sharks
That’s the feelin’ I get when you’re concentratin’
On this pen, on this pad
Tell me you’re willin’ to diss on my craft
Tell me the feelin’ of pickin’ apart this track
Stop
Puttin’ my heart and my soul in these lines
Tellin’ me platinum and gold all the time
Lookin’ to bury, a deep hole for mine
Drop
This is more than you, and this is more than you
And your entire building slanderin’ and abusin’
What I call the realest comin’ from a student
Told myself to use a poem as an UZI
Empty magazine, I seen a magazine
You seen my trigger finger, then I started shootin’
That was nicotine, I’m bout to smoke ’em all
And journalists involved should’ve known my music

We’re fragile
(Wish I’d have known)
I never thought I’d be so fragile
(You’re not alone)
If it didn’t break before, it’s about to
(We’ve been here before)
I don’t ever want to change
I’m fragile
I don’t ever
